On April 18th, 2011, West Central transitioned to a fuel surcharge program. For calculating the fuel surcharge, West Central will be using the posted retail diesel prices at Sparky’s One Stop, a regional supplier of diesel fuel, at their Jefferson, Iowa location. Sparky’s One Stop has been chosen as our benchmark location due to their proximity to SoyPlus® and SoyChlor® loading facilities.

In calculating the fuel surcharge, West Central will be using a fuel base rate of $2.03 per gallon and with every $.05 increase or decrease in the price of fuel we will be adjusting our fuel surcharge by 1%. Surcharges will be updated every Monday afternoon.

With the local price of fuel at $3.8570 our surcharge rate is 36%.
